Nail art on a budget!

So as a mother of three I find myself having to pinch pennies everywhere. I love to have my girls night and do mani pedi. But you never get the same nail affect as the salon. I have found a way for me to get a similar look for a few dollars! Dollar General now sells LA nail polishes for only $1 a piece. I love the different neon colors they have. They are called color craze. Then they have these awesome nail Art Deco polishes. You can do pretty much anything decorative on them. My girls absolutely love these they like having mommy make different designs on their nails! I rate these wallet and girl time approved!

I have an upcoming opportunity to work with a professional photographer!  She will be using some of my hats in a photo shoot.  I am so excited to see the finished product.  I even get to use the photos on my pages.  This is going to be an amazing experience for me and I hope that it helps me grow my business!  Her name is Ashlyn Duke.  Her business page on facebook is Ashlyn Duke Photography!  Head on over and check her out! She does some awesome work!

Prayers for our country!

My heart goes out to those how were affected by the attack in Boston today! Suddenly all these problems surrounding gay marriage and gun control seem so trivial. God bless and be with those families who were killed or injured! Even those who only witnessed the event my prayers pour out to you all tonight! May God be a great presence in your healing process and your strength to make it through. Please even if you are not religious take the time to think of those affected and send them warm wishes! Prayer heals all! Tonight I am thankful for my husband and three little girls being safe!

Our first bible study at home as a family!

Tonight we did our first bible study with the girls. It went surprisingly well with the older two. Raiyaa on the other hand did not respond. But the oldests were very excited! We are studing the Ten Commandments in a series at a church we have been visiting for a couple of weeks. So I decided this would be a good time to use this book I bought at Ollie's a couple years back. I got the book for only a dollar. I always like a good bargain. So for all of you thinking about starting a study with your kids who are young I would suggest doing at dinner or right after while they are calm. And try using rewards for good behavior. Tonight's study was on the first commandment. You shall not have any gods before me! Happy studying!

New hook!

So I have this new found love for these wooden hooks! But one of the ones I bought a couple weeks ago broke. So I just took it back to hobby lobby. They didn't have the exact one that I had before so I got this one. Can't wait to see how this one feels when crocheting! For all you experienced crocheters these hooks are a lot easier on your hands and wrists they are super lightweight!

Newest edition to the Burns family!

Meet Bolt the girls' new hamster! A big thank you goes out to my friend Lynsey for buying the kids a new hamster! The girls said that he reminds them of the hamster in the Disney movie Bolt! Hence the name. He is funny to watch and actually let's us hold him unlike the dearly departed Princess. He is loved already. Welcome little buddy!

Hardest mommy day yet!

Today I had to do one of the hardest things I've ever had to do this far as a Mommy. I had explain to my girls that their first pet they ever had passed away :( I started to cry before I even told them. I knew it was going to break their little hearts. They cried and I felt so bad. We toke a cereal box turned it inside out and let them decorate it the way they wanted. It was so precious. Then we took Princess ( that was the hampsters name) out back daddy dug a hole and we buried her as a family. RIP Princess we will miss you!

New Hats Made!

So I have been so busy lately working on my business!  I have improved my facebook page and started a free giveaway!  Which you can check out at https://www.facebook.com/crochetedcritterhatsandmore.com.
There has been so much going on at my house it's not even funny.  I have to girl scout troops I'm a part of plus AWANAS and I'm going to school full time online.  But I am going to start blogging more often! So here are some pics of some new things I have made recently...

This hats I saw on one of my favorite blogs Repeat Crafter Me!  I altered her patterns though but I used the parts she made!  I love seeing the things she comes up with!  I love taking them and making them my own too!  You can see her blog at www.repeatcrafterme.com.  I have some new patterns that I am in the process of creating right now, that is if my three little girls will let me get them done!  So stay tuned for some sneak peaks at what I'm coming up with next!
